Taking a Walk Is More Than Good For You!
The Harvard Business review has reported on the benefits of walking that surpass simple exercise.? They report in a 2013 study by a cognitive psychologist from Leiden University that ?people who go for a walk or ride a bike four times a week are able to think more creatively?.
Not only does sunlight boost seratonin levels (Vitamin D) which improve your disposition but it will calm your mind and help keep you fit.
As part of your workday, why don?t you go for a walk either at lunch or in the afternoon to give yourself not only a mental break but improve your health! Starting a walking club at the office will also be a great team building exercise if you post a chart so everyone can view progress.
If you work from a home office, taking a brisk walk (or walking with purpose) with arms pumping will be a great cardio option during good weather and going at least 2 kms will assist with your overall fitness.
I think this is a great tool for success in achieving work/life balance.? Who wouldn?t want to improve both body and mind with this simple technique?
So let?s get out from behind the desk, put on our running shoes, map a route and begin to walk for health, creativity and balance. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ??
